MARRIAGE BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN IS THE BASIS OF SOCIETY:
THAT UNION SHOULD NOT BE DILUTED (Click

"The long-term consequences of legitimating
same sex unions are unknown and may well be serious. While same-sex
advocates argue that no-one will be worse off tomorrow because their homosexual
neighbors are married today, no one knows what impact same-sex marriage will
have on society. Moreover, it has not been shown that society
will be improved by same-sex marriage. For centuries societies
have been built upon the foundation of traditional families. As the
family is weakened, so it society."

ROSIE
O'DONNELL "COMES OUT" ABOUT GAY PARENTING
"I don't think America knows what a gay parent
looks like: I am the gay parent," the entertainer tells ABCNEWS' Diane
Sawyer in her first in-depth interview about her sexuality.

E-MAIL CAMPAIGN TARGETS FLORIDA ADOPTION BAN
(Click title to read the full article)
"Florida
governor Jeb Bush and the state agency in charge of adoptions have received
63,000 E-mails in three days from people opposed to the state's ban on
adoptions by gays, officials said. The E-mail drive is part of a multimedia
campaign launched Thursday by the American Civil Liberties Union against the
Florida law."

"They are using her as an example to say that gay parents are
wonderful, that gay parenting can't be damaging," Paulk said. "What
would anybody say negatively about Rosie O'Donnell?"
O'Donnell told Sawyer: "I'm a really good mother and I have every
right to parent this child."
But family and child psychologist Dr. Bill Maier said the issue is not
about homosexual rights, or even about O'Donnell, but about the welfare of
adopted children.
ROSIE'S WAR (Click

"We
know that Rosie is a nice, decent individual," said Glenn Stanton, senior
research analyst at Focus on the Family. "We also know that she loves her
kids. But what an incredible leap to say that just because Rosie is nice and
loves her kids that we should completely overhaul our public policy on this
point."
If
anyone ought to symbolize the impact of the gay adoption debate, it should be
Jakii Edwards, not Rosie O'Donnell.
Placed in the
foster care system as a newborn, then later yanked out by an openly lesbian
mother she did not know, Edwards' story of abuse and gender confusion casts
doubt upon the assertion that growing up in a homosexual home is harmless.

EXAMINING THE RESEARCH ON HOMOSEXUAL PARENTING
By
Glenn T. Stanton, Focus on the Family (Click title to read the full
article)
"Contrary
to what the AAP claims, the research comparing outcomes from homosexual
parenting and heterosexual parenting are notoriously inconclusive. There is a
larger body of scientific literature showing children need a mother and father
for proper socialization."
WHY CHILDREN NEED A MALE AND FEMALE PARENT
By
Glenn T. Stanton, Focus on the Family (Click title to read the full
article)
"If Heather is being raised by two mommies and Brandon is being
raised by Daddy and his roommate, both might have two adults in their lives,
but they are being deprived of the benefit of the essential influence of a
mother and a father. The cooperative input and influence of a male parent and a
female parent is essential for proper child development. There are many simple
and obvious reasons for this."
"PEDOPHILIA CHIC" RECONSIDERED
By Mary Eberstadt (Click title to read the full

The
taboo against sex with children continues to erode.
"This
social consensus against the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents,
however unlike those against, say, animal sex or incest is apparently
eroding, and this regardless of the fact that the vast majority of citizens do
overwhelmingly abominate the thing. For elsewhere in the public square, the
defense of adult-child sex more accurately, man-boy sex is now out in the
open. Moreover, it is on parade in a number of places therapeutic, literary,
and academic circles; mainstream publishing houses and journals and magazines
and bookstores where the mere appearance of such ideas would until recently
have been not only unthinkable, but in many cases, subject to
prosecution."

international peace and security, the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF) said

High Commissioner Mary Robinson pointed out that the worlds Muslims
comprising over 20 per cent of all people on Earth come from a diverse range
of cultures and geographical areas. It is important to recognize the greatness
of Islam, its civilizations and its immense contribution to the richness of the
human experience, not only through profound belief and theology but also
through the sciences, literature and art, she said.
